Incident Involving an Employee

Dear Glendale Unified Employees, Families, and Community,

Today, the Glendale Police Department arrested a GUSD employee who is also employed by the City of Glendale for lewd acts on a minor. You can find more information in the GPD statement here. The allegations relate to the individual’s employment as a coach at John Muir Elementary School in the One Glendale After-School Youth Sports Program.

GUSD takes every reported act of misconduct seriously. We are working closely with GPD and the City of Glendale to investigate and address these allegations. Although the allegations relate to the individual’s employment with the City of Glendale, GUSD immediately placed the employee on administrative leave for the alleged misconduct.

Our school and district administration will continue to cooperate fully with the GPD’s investigation. As this is an ongoing investigation involving minors, the details cannot be disclosed publicly. When the charges are filed, this case will be determined in a court of law.
